Italy presents an enormous diversity of regions and climate. It is a long boot with a varied geography.
In the north between the Alps and Tuscany the climate is harsh, with very cold winters and very hot summers. In central Italy the climate is milder, with a smaller difference in temperature between summer and winter. In southern Italy and the islands winters are never particularly harsh, and spring and autumn temperatures are mild.
When is the best time to visit Italy?
All year round! possibilities for adventures are endless; destinations vary from magnificent cities and unspoiled hill towns, busy towns and placid places, lakes, snowy mountains and spectacular seaside resorts.
Winter: light- to medium weights in the south and warmer clothes elsewhere and for the evening.
Winter mountain resorts: Alpine wear.
– What do we advise? In Italy we say :” onion-like” (different layers) clothing is better, especially in spring and summer.
